Lakeshore Swim Club Lessons

Lakers Swimming

Learn to swim, swim for life!

Swim instruction by accredited coaches.

Junior Masters • Fundamentals • Summer Camp

Welcome to Lakeshore Swim Club's Junior Masters, Fundamentals & Development Summer Camp home. These programs are offered outside our competitive program.

Each program is described below in detail, along with session times and registration fees.

Registration is only available online. Returning swimmers are given exclusive access to re-register, followed by qualified siblings of members, and then qualified new members may register afterward if space permits. Note that some programs require swimmers to attend one of our tryouts and to be invited to register. Please review the program information below for details like this before proceeding to register.

Wait Lists

LSC does not maintain wait lists for its programs between one session and the next. However, if a program becomes full, some programs allow swimmers to join a wait list for that particular session. In the event that a participant has to leave the program, LSC may admit a member from the wait list to fill the vacancy. If you would like to register for a program that is full, you may want to click on the "Wait List" button (which replaces the "Register" button) to join that program's wait list. At the end of the session, the wait list is discarded.

No Refunds

Please note that LSC does not offer full or partial refunds for any of its non-competitive programs for any reason. Be sure to check your schedules before registering!

Program Cancellation Policy

In the event of insufficient demand for programs, Lakeshore Swim Club reserves the right to cancel a program prior to the commencement of classes. Registered members will be fully reimbursed for their fee in such circumstances.

Development Summer Camp

We aim to provide young swimmers, either starting their competitive career or at the pre-competitive level, the option to learn accelerated swimming skills all summer long.

LSC Half Day Camps will focus on improving technical swimming skills. The flexibility and dryland components will help build basic athletic ability, again with a focus on technique.

On Tuesday mornings each week, our Head Coach will come in to present video to participants based on the stroke focus for the week. Swimmers will be able to see the skills they are working on done by the best in the world!

All pool, dryland, and flexibility work is planned by LSC Head Coach, Eric Anderson.

Swimmers must be between 8 and 12 years of age and able to swim two lengths of a 25m pool. For LSC swimmers, those in Fundamentals, Comp 3 and younger swimmers in Comp 2 are perfect for this program.

Pool: 25 yard widths across Sunnyside Outdoor Pool, which is perfect for learning technical skills
Classroom with seating and whiteboard/projector
Indoor and Outdoor dryland areas
Park and Waterfront Trail

If the weather should take a turn for the worst and we are unable to use the pool (thunder storms) we will still run the camp indoors as we have unlimited access to the dryland area and classroom. Rain will not result in a pool closure and we will still swim.

Should the facility as a whole close, an account credit for future programs with LSC will be issued.

The Fundamentals program at Lakeshore Swim Club is a developmental swim program for swimmers age 7 and up who have successfully completed Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation's Ultra Swim 5 (minimum, or equivalent), and have tried out and been invited to join this group. This program introduces swimmers to competitive swimming and emphasizes competitive swimming technique for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly.

Our coaches have experience in the development and competitive swim environments and are registered with Swim Ontario.

Swimmers MUST attend a tryout to determine their eligibility for the program. Registrants who do not try out will be removed from the program and refunded.

The next step from this program, which would be a year or two down the road for most swimmers, would be entering Lakeshore Swim Club's competitive stream in the Intro program, which includes regular swim meets and 3 or more practices per week.

The Fundamentals program is not part of Lakeshore Swim Club's formal competitive program. Participants in this program are not members of Lakeshore Swim Club, and are not subject to the volunteer requirement listed in the Parent Info section of our website.

Jr. Masters Swimming

Lakers Teen Swimming is a Jr. Masters program at Lakeshore Swim Club for swimmers aged 12 and over who want a swimming workout without the need to compete competitively.

Swimmers will be provided with training workouts along with the assistance and development of the four competitive strokes and competitive swim skills. Swimmers in this program will benefit by having an experienced coach to assist with training techniques. Our Jr Masters coach has experience in both development and competitive swimming and is registered with Swim Ontario.

There are no tryouts necessary for this program, however, swimmers interested in registering must be able to swim at least 2 continuous pool lengths unassisted.

The Lakers Teen Swimming program is not part of Lakeshore Swim Club's formal competitive program. Participants are not members of Lakeshore Swim Club, and are not subject to the volunteer requirement listed in the Parent Info section of our website.

Notwithstanding the above, participation in the Lakers Teen Swimming program does affect OFSAA eligibility requirements. Swimmers in this program will be required to compete in the Open Division at OFSAA, not the High School Division. For details see the Jr. Masters & OFSAA Eligibility article under Programs on our website.
