Lakeshore Swim Club Lessons
Learn to swim, swim for life!
Swim instruction by accredited coaches.
Junior Masters • Fundamentals • Summer Camp
Welcome to Lakeshore Swim Club's Junior Masters, Fundamentals & Development Summer Camp home. These programs are offered outside our competitive program.
Each program is described below in detail, along with session times and registration fees.
Registration is only available online. Returning swimmers are given exclusive access to re-register, followed by qualified siblings of members, and then qualified new members may register afterward if space permits. Note that some programs require swimmers to attend one of our tryouts and to be invited to register. Please review the program information below for details like this before proceeding to register.
LSC does not maintain wait lists for its programs between one session and the next. However, if a program becomes full, some programs allow swimmers to join a wait list for that particular session. In the event that a participant has to leave the program, LSC may admit a member from the wait list to fill the vacancy. If you would like to register for a program that is full, you may want to click on the "Wait List" button (which replaces the "Register" button) to join that program's wait list. At the end of the session, the wait list is discarded.
Please note that LSC does not offer full or partial refunds for any of its non-competitive programs for any reason. Be sure to check your schedules before registering!
Program Cancellation Policy
In the event of insufficient demand for programs, Lakeshore Swim Club reserves the right to cancel a program prior to the commencement of classes. Registered members will be fully reimbursed for their fee in such circumstances.
The Fundamentals program at Lakeshore Swim Club is a developmental swim program for swimmers age 7 and up who have successfully completed Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation's Ultra Swim 5 (minimum, or equivalent), and have tried out and been invited to join this group. This program introduces swimmers to competitive swimming and emphasizes competitive swimming technique for front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly.
Our coaches have experience in the development and competitive swim environments and are registered with Swim Ontario.
Swimmers MUST attend a tryout to determine their eligibility for the program. Registrants who do not try out will be removed from the program and refunded.
The next step from this program, which would be a year or two down the road for most swimmers, would be entering Lakeshore Swim Club's competitive stream in the Intro program, which includes regular swim meets and 3 or more practices per week.
The Fundamentals program is not part of Lakeshore Swim Club's formal competitive program. Participants in this program are not members of Lakeshore Swim Club, and are not subject to the volunteer requirement listed in the Parent Info section of our website.
Jr. Masters Swimming
Lakers Teen Swimming is a Jr. Masters program at Lakeshore Swim Club for swimmers aged 12 and over who want a swimming workout without the need to compete competitively.
Swimmers will be provided with training workouts along with the assistance and development of the four competitive strokes and competitive swim skills. Swimmers in this program will benefit by having an experienced coach to assist with training techniques. Our Jr Masters coach has experience in both development and competitive swimming and is registered with Swim Ontario.
There are no tryouts necessary for this program, however, swimmers interested in registering must be able to swim at least 2 continuous pool lengths unassisted.
The Lakers Teen Swimming program is not part of Lakeshore Swim Club's formal competitive program. Participants are not members of Lakeshore Swim Club, and are not subject to the volunteer requirement listed in the Parent Info section of our website.
Notwithstanding the above, participation in the Lakers Teen Swimming program does affect OFSAA eligibility requirements. Swimmers in this program will be required to compete in the Open Division at OFSAA, not the High School Division. For details see the Jr. Masters & OFSAA Eligibility article under Programs on our website.
