Level Descriptions:

Tadpole: Get in the water for the first time with us! This class focuses on having fun in the water and making kids comfortable in the pool. No parents are allowed in the pool.

Minnow: Kids in this class should be comfortable getting in the water. This class works on encouraging kids to put their face in the water as well as doing scooper arms, kicks, and back floats.

Guppy: Kids in this class should be more or less comfortable putting their face in the water and they should be able to swim a few strokes on their own. Guppies will practice crawl stroke, streamline, back floats and back stroke, and be introduced to side breathing and sit dives.

Trout: Kids in this class should be comfortable swimming half of the width of the pool on their own. The Trout class will work on side breathing with crawl stroke, doing backstroke on their own, and kneeling dives.

Salmon: Kids in this class should be able to swim the width of the pool on their own and be comfortable taking breaths without assistance. This class will focus on crawl stroke and backstroke technique as well as introducing breaststroke and standing dives.

Shark: Sharks should be very confident swimmers. This class will focus on technique work in crawl stroke, backstroke, breaststroke, and introduce dolphin kick and butterfly. They will also work on standing dives and diving off the starting blocks.

Private lessons are a great way for you child to get focus, one-on-one time with our instructors! Each lesson is 30 minutes and is open to all skill levels.

This is only for Blue Ridge Swim Team swimmers. Please do not register for this class unless you have scheduled and confirmed a lesson with Coach Maggie or Coach Matthew.

Our member price is reserved to families who live within the Blue Ridge bounds and pay annual pool and community fees. We ask that all non-residents pay the full advertised price. Please register for this "class" to supplement your lessons payment if you mistakenly received the discounted member price and are not a Blue Ridge resident.
