Make a Splash : Learn-to-Swim (Registration Open)
Duke City Aquatics was the first learn-to-swim provider in New Mexico to join Make a Splash.
We offer year-round swim lessons through our Make a Splash: Learn-to-Swim program at West Mesa Aquatic Center. Lessons are offered twice a week for 4 weeks, providing a total of 8 lessons per month. We keep a 1:6 instructor:student ratio.These lessons cater to children between the ages of 5 and 10 years-old, and focus on preparing children to join our Discovery Group (year-round swimming and water polo team).
Children must be at least 5 years-old to register for this program. Make a Splash participants may register on a monthly basis only via this website. Spots are reserved when payment is received! We do not offer lessons during the months of August and December. Lessons are offered at West Mesa only.
Summer Lessons (Registration CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2018)
We offer Summer Lessons in June and July. Summer lessons meet four days per week, for a total of 4 classes per week/session. These lessons cater to children 3 years-old to 7 years-old. We focus on water safety, as well as floating, kicking, freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke.
Children must be at least 3 years-old and no older than 7 years-old to register for this program. Select Summer Lessons below to register for a session. Summer Lessons are located in the Taylor Ranch neighborhood.

Make A Splash
We offer this program during the school-year Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at 5PM September through November and January through May. During the summer (pending pool space and instructor availability), we offer lessons Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at 8AM, 845AM, and 5PM for the months of June and July. Please note, we do not offer lessons during the months of August or December.
Classes are 40 minutes each, held twice a week for four weeks, a total of eight lessons. Instructors are not responsible for making up missed classes. We will only schedule make-up classes for pool closures or interfering athletic events.
Make a Splash lessons are held at West Mesa Aquatics Center in the Olympic pool, which is kept at competition temperature (78-79 degrees); because of this, we require all participants to be at least 5 years-old by the first day of each session.
Lessons cost $75 per child per session. There is a $25 cancellation fee for failing to cancel enrollment before the close of registration or before the start of a session. If you fail to contact the lesson coordinator or to show up by the second class of a session, you will be billed the $25 cancellation fee, and your spot will be given to another student.
Requests for refunds, whether whole or partial, must be submitted to the lesson coordinators, and will be evaluated and distributed at the discretion of the lesson coordinators only.
By completing the registration form, you accept responsibility to pay the lesson, registration, and/or cancellation fees described above.
We offer this program during the summer months, usually beginning in late-May and ending late-July. We require all participants to be at least 3 years-old before the beginning of each session and no older than 7 years-old by the close of each session to participate.
Lessons are generally offered Monday through Thursday for 40 minutes for a total of four lessons available on a weekly basis only. We host these lessons in the backyard pool of our Head Coach, located in the Taylor Ranch neighborhood.
In these lessons, we primarily focus on water safety, although we additionally teach children how to float and kick on their stomach and back, as well as freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke if time and participant ability permits. We maintain a maximum 1:4 instructor-student ratio in these classes.
Each session cost $75 per child per session, including a $25 non-refundable registration fee; The lesson fee is due the first day of class, cash or check only.
Please note, we do not offer lessons during the week of July 4, nor in the month of August.
