Developmental Swim School
SwimAmerica, the premier learn-to-swim program developed by the American Swimming Coaches Association is in Kingsport at the Dobyns-Bennett High School indoor swimming pool. This national program is directed in the Tri-Cities area by the Kingsport Piranha Head swim coach, Jorge Blasini, who is a licensed program director with over 40 years of coaching and teaching experience.
The Developmental Swim School will offer two tracks: Learn-to-Swim for beginners 4 years and up; and Piranaha Mini for any swimmer capable of swimming one length of the pool freestyle.
The School is a licensed SwimAmerica program and employs the station method of teaching so that learning to swim and stroke instruction is accomplished in the most effective manner possible.
At each station the fundamental elements of swimming are organized into teaching units with advancement criteria which provide the student with clear tests of his/her abilities.
In the Learn-to-Swim track, swimmers start with basic water adaptation skills, safety skills, body alignment and freestyle skills.
Piranhas Mini is for swimmers wanting to learn more advanced competitive skills in preparation to join the Kingsport Piranha Swim Team. It is also designed as an excellent supplement to summer league swimming programs.
Each class is devoted to stroke instruction, sprint training, and swimming enjoyment. Under
the guidance of a professional coach students learn and develop the four competitive strokes, racing starts, and turns. Each skill necessary to swim FAST at the club, high school, and summer league levels will be emphasized.
Help us recruit a new student and receive a $10.00 credit to your registration fee!!
