Welcome to the Alameda Gators Learn-to-Swim Summer Program!
This introductory, 8-week-long swim program is designed for children ages 4-8 who are not yet water safe and wish to learn basic swimming skills in a safe and fun environment. Classes take place in the small pool at Lincoln Park (maximum water depth - 2 1/2 feet). They are taught by Alameda Gator coaches, with the help of experienced swim team members.
NOTE: If you are interested in summer opportunities for a child who can already swim the length of the pool, please see our regular team registration page for information about our Summer Recreational Team Program.
The Learn-to-Swim Program begins on Monday, June 11 and runs through Thursday, August 2. There will be no class on Wednesday July 4, or Friday, July 13.
Classes are held five days a week, in 45-minute sessions at 4:30 and 5:15 P.M.. There is no specific attendance requirement and swimmers may attend as many classes per week as they wish. Please note however, that the price is the same no matter how many days your swimmer attends.
The total cost of the 8-week program is $295. Payment is due at the time of registration.
PLEASE NOTE: Priority registration for current, active year-round swim team families runs from March 25 through March 31. This does not include recreational group swimmers or swimmers returning from last summer's program. We cannot guarantee spots to team members after March 31. Families registering during the priority registration period when they are not actually eligible for priority registration will have their registation automatically canceled and fees refunded. A $10.00 processing fee will be deducted from their refund to cover the team's credit card costs for charging and refunding their fees. A $10.00 cancellation fee per swimmer will also apply to cover our costs in the event that you change your mind about participating in the program.
