There are 4 levels that lead up to the swim team. It is for ages 4-13 with the goal of being proficient in the water.
Level 1 students should start out ready to go in a group lesson setting. Please review the requirements. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate children in group lessons who are not willing to try the skills or put their face in. In this situation, Private lessons would be better suited and we encourage you to find a program that fits your child best until they are comfortable in the PSC Group lesson setting. However, Private Lessons may be available. Contact us if needed.
Our group lesson students should be willing to jump in (with help is okay) - but willing to get face wet and work on Front Floats and Back Floats among other new skills, while waiting safely on the island for their turn. Practicing bubbles and floating in the tub are great ways to prepare for lessons.
As the students progress through each level, the ultimate goal is to join our swim team. To join our competitive team, we want to see an understanding of and proficiency in all 4 strokes; a desire to learn more through continued practice and good listening skills. If you have questions about your child's level, please consult our Level Placement skill set here:
We look forward to seeing you at the pool!
