Learn-To-Swim

Our Learn-To-Swim program is offered to all Parkland students from September through May! There are 4 levels that lead up to the swim team. It is for ages 4-12 with the goal of being proficient in the water.

Level 1 students should start out ready to go in a group lesson setting. Please review the requirements. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate children who are not willing to try the skills or put their face in. In this situation, individual lessons would be better suited and we encourage you to find a program that fits your child best until they are comfortable in the PSC lesson setting. Our students should be willing to jump in (with help is okay) - but willing to get face wet and work on Front Floats and Back Floats among other new skills, while waiting safely on the island for their turn. Practicing bubbles and floating in the tub are great ways to prepare for lessons.

As the students progress through each level, the ultimate goal is to join our swim team. To join our competitive team, we want to see an understanding of and proficiency in all 4 strokes; a desire to learn more through continued practice 2-3 days per week and good listening skills. If you would like to schedule an evaluation, just let us know.

We look forward to seeing you at the Parkland High School Natatorium!
