What is a Swim-a-Thon?
Swim-a-Thon is a USA Swimming Foundation approved fundraiser used by swim teams all over the United States to raise money for their respective club and the charity of their choice. To raise money for Swim-a-Thon, swimmers receive pledges and donations from family members, friends, neighbors, and local businesses.
Last year, SwimRVA’s Learn to Swim program provided access and opportunity for 1,920 underserved youth in Richmond to participate in free swim lessons with their elementary school. Your support in this year’s Swim A Thon will go directly to enable additional youth to learn this lifesaving skill and enjoy all aspects of aquatics as well as support of the Rapids and SwimRVA.
By donating to our Swim-a-Thon fundraiser, you are helping to give worthy kids across Richmond the same great experience in the pool. In addition, 5% of the proceeds raised from our Swim-a-Thon goes back to the USA Swimming Foundation to support learn-to- swim programs and to provide financial support to our U.S. National Team athletes and coaches.
Our goal is to raise money from friends, family and local community. With our athletes fundraising participation and your financial support, we will be able to provide critical support to our mission to Drownproof Richmond. Your support of our Swim-a-Thon is very much appreciated and we thank you in advance.
The Swim A Thon is a great event for our swimmers to challenge themselves to do their best while helping our TEAM! Please get involved. There will be great incentives for each team member for reaching certain fund-raising goals as well as the winning team can claim the grand prize.
