Swim Groups

STORM offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of STORM to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Green Group

Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.
Coach: Gabbie Montz (Cypress); Amanda Tucker (TCC)
Workout Days/Times:

Destrehan:  Monday - Thursday: 5:00 - 6:00, Saturday: 8:00 - 9:00

Terrytown Country Club: M-Th 6:30 - 8:00, Saturday: 8:00 - 9:00


Navy Group

From the Green group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 9 years old and have completed the Green Group move-up skills list. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.

Destrehan:  M-Th 5:00 - 6:30; Sat:  8:00 - 9:30 AM

Terrytown Country Club:  M-Th  6:00 - 8:00 PM, Sat: 8:00 - 9:30


Silver Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 13 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group.

Workout Days/Times:

UNO:  M-F:  3:00 - 5:30 

Destrehan:  M-Th:  5:00 - 7:00; Sat:  7:30 - 9:30 AM

                     Weights:  Tues/Thurs: 6:30 - 7:15 PM; Sat:  6:45 - 7:30 AM

Terrytown Country Club:  M-Th:  6:00 - 8:00 PM; Sat: 8:00 - 10:00
