Programs and Schedules
We offer training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels from our developmental programs for young and beginning swimmers to an elite national training group. It is the goal of the Gators Swim Club to offer age specific training that is geared towards challenging and developing each individual to the best of their abilities. Registration for all Gator programs is completely online through our TeamUnify website. Please contact CvilleGators@gmail.com if you require assistance or have questions.
Developing Swimmers (Ages 5-9)
Focus on developing the four competitive strokes, starts and turns, and basic training concepts. Swimmers should be able to complete one length of the pool unassisted and listen attentively to coaches. Participation in meets is encouraged as appropriate, but not required. 3 Day and 6 Day practice options offered.
Practices: 3 Day Group A: Mon./Weds./Fri. or Group B: Tues./Thurs./Fri. 4:00pm-5:00pm. 6 Day Group: Mon.-Fri. 4:00pm-5:00pm and Saturdays 12:00noon-1:00pm.
Progressing Swimmers (Ages 9-13)
Focus on progressively adding to stroke competency in all four competitive strokes, fine-tuning mechanics, and increasing strength and endurance. Participation in meets is encouraged. 3 Day and 6 Day practice options are offered.
Practices: 3 Day Group A: Mon./Weds./Fri. or Group B: Tues./Thurs./Fri. 5:00pm-6:30pm. 6 Day Group: Mon.-Fri. 5:00pm-6:30pm and Saturdays 11:30am-1:00pm.
Advancing Swimmers (Ages 13-18)
Experienced swimmers with a desire to advance their training to the highest level in this group focused on competitive training, perfecting stroke mechanics, building endurance, and fine-tuning race techniques. Participation in frequent meets is expected, including regional and higher championship meets. Swimmers are encouraged to practice 4-6 times per week.
Practices: Mon.-Fri. 6:30pm-8:30pm and Sat. 10:00am-12:00noon. This group offers only a 6 day option due to the minimum training needs of this skill level.
Leading Swimmers (Ages 13-18)
Our most committed swimmers with a record of dedicated training, emotional maturity, and desire to reach their maximum potential. 6 practices per week is highly encouraged, 4-5 at a minimum. Afternoon dryland training is encouraged for most. A 12 month commitment is preferred with a focus on preparation for success at national meets and collegiate swimming opportunities. Desire to participate in frequent meets is assumed. Swimmers must meet practice performance requirements established by the Head Coach. Interested swimmers should contact the Head Coach.
Practices: Mon.-Fri. 5:30am-7:30am and Saturdays 8:00am-10:30am.
High School Prep Program (Sep.-Nov.)
The High School Prep Program is a 10-week program offering 5 practices per week to fully prepare swimmers in 9th-12th grade for a successful high school swim season.
Practices: Mon.-Fri. 6:30pm-8:30pm
Summer Prep Program (April-May)
The Summer Prep Program is a 7-week program designed to prepare swimmers, ages 6-18, for their best JSL summer season ever! Click here for more information.
Summer Gators (June-July)
Summer Gators runs from the end of May through July for selected swimmers in the Progressing and Advancing Groups as an add-on for experienced, competitive swimmers interested in continuing to build strength and stamina and compete in Long Course USA Swimming meets. Click here for more information.
