TEAM TRY OUTS: TBD
At this time Norwin Aqua Club is only able to offer a limited number of swimmers access to our alternative swimming location. As such, tryouts will be put on hold until we are able to return to the Norwin High School pool.
Learn to Swim and Aqua Academy have also been put on pause. At this time NAC is not able to swim at the Norwin High School pool. Once we are able to return to swimming at Norwin this site, along with the Facebook page, will be updated with more information.
LEARN-TO-SWIM (LTS) PROGRAM
WHAT IS LTS?
LTS offers swimming lessons for all levels of swimmers (beginner through advanced). LTS is a 6 session swimming program developed and run by the Norwin Aqua Club coaching staff. Each session runs for 45 minutes. The LTS program is usually offered twice a year (fall/winter & summer). Fall/winter sessions are on Saturday mornings. Summer sessions are on weekday afternoons. The LTS program is held at the Norwin High School Swimming Pool.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR LTS?
To be eligible to participate in the LTS program, the registrants MUST be 4 years old by the first day of the lessons, completely potty trained, and be a minimum of 42 inches tall to be considered.
WHEN ARE THE LTS PROGRAM DATES AND TIMES ANNOUNCED?
When the LTS program is going to be offered, a flyer announcing the session dates and times, along with the sign-up date, will be sent home with Norwin School District Elementary students (K-4). It will also be posted on the NAC website and Facebook page.
Once a swimmer successfully completes the Learn to Swim program they progress to the Norwin Aqua Club Aqua Academy. This group focuses on the mechanical techniques involved with the four competitive strokes, their associated starts, turns and finishes. The swimming student experiences a small coach-to-swimmer ratio. The instruction is provided in a low-key setting. There is no athletic training or formal conditioning provided through this program. The program is designed to prepare the swimmer who successfully completes the program to progress to the entry level on the Norwin Aqua Club. No Meets are included in this program.
Your son/daughter must try out for the team. At the try-out our coaching staff will evaluate your child and they will then be referred to either swim lessons, Aqua Academy, or be invited to join Norwin Aqua Club. Aqua Academy typically starts a week after the tryouts and it typically runs for 8 weeks.
