SWIMMERS…TAKE YOUR MARK…and GO join a great summer swim team – the West Howard Wahoos!!! We are in Division V this year we need YOU to keep our team strong and competitive.  We want to welcome back all of our returning swimmers and encourage other members, both new and experienced, to give it a try!  All ability levels are welcome. Regardless of age, a swimmer's final season of competition will be up to 18 or the summer swim season immediately after graduation from high school.  Swimmers MUST be able to swim one length of the entire pool unassisted in order to qualify for the team. You’ll learn everything else from butterfly and breaststroke to starts and flip turns.  We’ll also have lots of fun social events!

West Howard Swim Team is excited to announce that we have a very strong coaching staff this year with many years of experience in coaching.

We are very excited to welcome back our Head Coach, Jody Frey to West Howard Swim Team.  Coach Jody has many years of coaching a local club team.  She has coached all age-groups and believes that everyone has the ability to strive to be their best in and out of the pool.  Jody has assisted in developing quad-A swimmers on her club team and she has helped struggling swimmers learn to love the water. She believes that life lessons are taught through competition.  Coach Jody believes that trusting and believing in one's self along with working hard are the keys to success.  She believes that swimming teaches patience, discipline, respect, time management, builds friendships and it develops life long love for the sport.   We are very excited and to have Coach Jody Frey as the Head coach of the Wahoos this summer.

We are excited to welcome our returning Assistant Coach Joanne Louzon to the team.  Coach Joanne is a lifelong swimmer who began her coaching career over 15 years ago as a swim instructor at CCBC Swim Clinic.  She then moved onto Age Group Swimming at Retriever Aquatic Club. She was the head coach for Maryland Masters at UMBC and Assistant Coach for Andover for 6 years. Coach Joanne is a perfect example of integrity, energy, and hard work.

We are pleased to announce the return of Assistant Coach Morgan Kemp.  Coach Morgan has been a competitive swimmer for 12 years, and formerly served as a junior coach for the Wahoos for 5 years.  She loves swimming and wants to pass on her knowledge and passion for swimming to the younger swimmers.  Morgan is well known at West Howard with always cheering on the swimmers and giving them pep talks before their races and getting in the water and helping them with their strokes.

West Howard is excited to welcome Kaitlyn O'Byrne to as an Assistant Coach with the West Howard Swim Team this season.  Kaitlyn has worked as a junior coach for West Howard and has been the lead instructor of the Starfish Swim Lesson Academy for the past two years.  She has been swimming competitively for 13 years and has worked as a volunteer swim instructor for the Special Olympics Maryland Swim Chapter. Kaitly is very excited to see all of the returning families and meeting the new swimmers and families.
