Dive Season is upon us!  Welcome Back to our familiar faces, and a warm welcome to our newest divers who are brave enough to greet the chill of the pool and getting in and out of it.  We are always looking for new recruits. The team is open to kids and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 18. You don’t need to be an experienced diver – most of the team had no experience in diving when they joined us. All you need is an interest in the sport and a willingness to learn. Plus, of course, team members need to feel comfortable in deep water and be able to swim the length of the diving well.

Dues/Registration: Dues are $170 per diver, $320 for two divers, $450 for three children and $560 for four or more.  Register here or you can email the dive reps ( for a paper form.

PRACTICES: Practices start on Tuesday May 29 and will be held after school, and once school lets out beginning June 18, practices will switch to morning practices.  DIVE PRACTICES DO NOT CONFLICT WITH SWIM TEAM, NOR DO OUR MEETS!!! So if you have a swimmer that might be interested in adding an additional summer sport, please encourage them to TRY DIVE!

May 29 - June 15 practices are from 4-5 pm or 5-6 pm

June 18 - July 27 practices are from 10-11 am or 11-12 am

While the team is still on the smaller side, there will be no age groupings for practices, so whichever hour works for your diver, we’ll be having mixed age practices until further notice.

COACHES: Our coaches are familiar to returning families. Owen Collins will be leading the team this summer for his senior summer of dive.  Owen started diving with the Wakefield Chapel Wahoos in 2008, our first year of having a dive team at our neighborhood pool.  He is excited to be leading the team this year and hopes to have some younger divers be as positively influenced as he has been by his own homegrown coaches.  Owen dove for Woodson High School and Mason Dive Academy during his high school years.  Olivia Rummel, Wakefield Chapel and Woodson HS Diver, will be returning to her Assistant Coaching position with us to round out the dynamic duo of Wahoo coaches.  Bridget Cassata and Aidan Thomas will also be returning to their posts at the dive well this summer to help coach and motivate the team with their expertise in encouraging reluctant divers and teaching the technical aspects of more complicated dives.

We Need Volunteers!  OUR GREATEST NEED IS FOR TEAM REPS FOR SUMMER 2019 TO STEP IN NOW TO GET TRAINING!!!  THERE IS NO TEAM WITHOUT TEAM REPS!!!! To run a successful team, it truly takes a village. The Dive Team is asking for your help. We need to provide judges and table workers for each meet. We also need certified referees. Only those who were judges in the past are able to become certified referees. Families are required to volunteer in some capacity. For those interested in learning to judge or referee, here are some dates for clinics. They are quick and painless and you learn A LOT about diving! No experience is required and you do not need to register in advance. They are free and all are located close to WCRA!
