Training Groups

Ski Hi Aquatics here offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of Ski Hi Aquatics to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Green Group

This is our entry level group. An athlete only needs to have basic knowledge of front and back crawl to enter this group.  Athletes focus mainly on learning four competitive strokes, learning start and turn technique and having fun.

Bronze Group

From the Green group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on perfecting their strokes and building endurance with each to swim longer distances.

Silver Group

From the Bronze group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 10 years old and have completed the Silver Group move-up skills list. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for longer distance events such as the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.

Gold Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 11 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training takes precedence over technique work for the first time in the athletes development.

High Performance Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 12 (girls) or 13 (boys). Athletes entering the Senior group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present. Athletes in the Senior group are directed towards making their Goal Qualifying Time Standards. Minimum training sets include:

4x200IM @3:00

MASTERS 

Ski Hi Aquatics now has a Masters Swim Program!  This consists of adults ages 18 and older who wish to continue their swim training. Whether for swim meets, triathlons or just to keep in shape, the Masters program can help you with whatever type of swimming you would like to pursue!
