Pre-Competitive Program:

Synchro Starters at Terwillegar Rec Centre

August 8, 2018  - August 29, 2018
August 8, 2018

Description

Description

Mondays and Wednesdays from August 8 to 29 at Terwillegar Pool from 5:45-6:45pm.

There is a limit of 6 participants in this class.  Program dues are $80.00 for 7 lessons.

Synchro Starters is a unique, play-based water orientation program to develop swimming skills through themed lessons on basic water skills, awareness, and comfort in the water. This program is for both boys and girls as the lessons are created to promote aquatic literacy, more specifically skills like breath control, propulsion, and coordination.

While Synchro Starters is a fun introduction to synchro-related skills, it is not a swimming lesson and does not teach swimming strokes. Participants should take opportunities to improve their swimming skills up to Swim Level 3 or higher so that after a year or so in synchro starters, they can join the Aurora Synchro's Wildrose FUNdamentals or Wildrose programs.

To sign up for this session, go to the Events Tab /August 8/Synchro Starters and click the “Register Online” button. You’ll be led through forms requesting account and member information and asked to pay the course fee by credit card.

  •  Wildrose FUNdamentals once a week (1x)  is an introduction to team synchronized swimming for children ages 6 - 12 who have completed their Swim Kids 3 and are comfortable in deep water. It's offered once a week for two hours at Kinsmen Sports Centre and Terwillegar pool.  Find out more about this program by clicking on Programs-Wildrose.

Competitive Programs:

Aurora Synchro also offers competitive programs from beginners through to national stream. From ages 7 to 15, swimmers participate in our Wildrose (provincial) Stream. When their passion for synchro develops, they can step up to Aurora Synchro's National Stream, the only national stream synchronized swimming program offering group training and routines in northern Alberta.

For more information, select one of the following programs under the Programs tab .

Wildrose:  Get the full synchro experience competing in routines and figures while training in a team environment.  Train 2x, 3x, or 4x per week and compete among similar-aged athletes within the Province.  Check out our Wildrose program under the Programs tab.

National Stream:  For those that want to take their synchro experience to the highest level and maximize their full potential.  Train with the most accomplished coaches to achieve your Provincial Team, National Team, or Scholarship goals.  Aurora Synchro is the only Club in Northern Alberta to regularly place athletes in these programs.
