Welcome to Bellevue Swim Club!
Founded in 1973 as the Bellevue Barracudas, BSC is member of USA Swimming. The club is a non-profit, 501c3 organization with a parent-run board and an educated and certified coaching staff. Head Coach Peggy Speer has been coaching since 1980 and has sent many swimmers to swim at all collegiate levels. She is an ASCA certified level 3 coach.
BSC is a member of Swim Omaha, LCC. Swim Omaha is a partnership between Westside Swim Club, the Fremont Swim Club, and the Bellevue Barracudas that was originally formed in 1994 to give swimmers an opportunity to compete on a national level. Swim Omaha has sent swimmers to Olympic Trials, USA Swimming Nationals, USA Swimming Junior Nationals, and regularly competes for Midwest Championships.
Swimmers from the Bellevue Swim Club have gone on to swim collegiately at the following programs: University of Kansas, University of Minnesota, Kenyon College, South Dakota University, and Missouri University of Science and Technology (just to name a few).
Bellevue Swim Club Alumni have also gone on to compete at the worlds biggest stage of swimming, the Olympic Games. In 2012 BSC alum, Josh White, was the head Olympic swim coach for Barbados. Also, one of Josh's swimmers at the University of Michigan made the US Olympic team and placed 6th in the 1500 in London.
BSC operates out of both Bellevue area high school pools: Bellevue East HS and Bellevue West HS. Each is 6 lanes and 25 yards long. During the summer months, the club also has access to an outdoor 50m pool in Omaha.
