Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning the four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.
From Group I, athletes move into this group. While this group continues to focus on technique, they will also be introduced to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 100 yard races and the Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.
Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is encouraged in this group. Technique continues to take precedence over training in practice. Athletes in this group train for the 200 yard races in free and IM, as well as the 100 yards races in all strokes. At this level swimmers are encouraged to make 3 - 4 practice each week.
Athletes entering Group IV must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. For the first time, training is equally as important as technique. Swimmers are strongly encouraged to practice as often as possible as well as compete in the swim meets.
Junior National / High School Group
This is our top level group. At this level, swimmers are guided towards making state qualifying times, Sectional Qualifying times and National qualifying times. While we do not have attendance requirements, swimmers in this group are expected to practice as often as possible.
