The Chicago South Mighty Kroc Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Chicago South Mighty Kroc Swim Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

SWIMMING PROGRAM

Group 1- Swimmer can do at least one lap freestyle

  • Learn body control

  • Learn proper breathing technique for freestyle

  • Introduce backstroke

  • Learn freestyle and backstroke flip-turns and starts

  • Gain understanding of being a competitive swimmer

Group 2- Swimmer mastered all group one lessons and shows a readiness to move up

  • Perfecting freestyle and backstroke

  • Drills and Workout

  • Introduce endurance training/ interval training                 

  • Learn butterfly and breaststroke

 Group 3- Swimmer mastered all group two lessons and shows a readiness to move up

  • Perfecting all 4 strokes

  • Perfect flip turns and starts

  • Focus on workouts-increased yardage and endurance

  • Aware of age group and time standards

  • Learns to set swim goals

Competitive- Swimmer mastered all group three lessons, shows a readiness to move up and/or achieves a regional time

  • Has committed to the sport and is self-motivated

  • Accepts role as a team leader and attends practices regularly

  • Can complete workout with minimum supervision  

  • Does dryland on their own

  • Watches diet

  • Learns to swim smart   

  • Sets realistic personal goals for the season (long and short term)
