Northern Dutchess Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of NDAC to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Group 1 - Ages 8&Under:  Minimum age: 6 as of December 1 of the current season.  Note: Coaching staff may determine that an older swimmer is better served by staying in this group.

This is our entry level group. Swimmers should be able to complete one lap of Freestyle and one lap of Backstroke unassisted. Group 1 focuses developing strength and introduces the swimmers to all 4 competitive strokes.

At least 2 practices per week are recommended.  Participation in team dual meets is required. Participation in the 2 NDAC sponsored invitational meets is required, check with your child's coach.

Group 2 - Ages 9-10:  Minimum age: 9 as of December 1 of the current season.  Note: Younger swimmers that have 2 or more AA cut times can be considered for this group in the beginning of the season at the Head Coach’s discretion. Coaching staff may also determine that an older swimmer is better served by staying in this group.

Swimmers should be able to legally swim 3 of the four competitive strokes when advancing from Group 1. Group 2 focuses on stroke development, technique and building a solid foundation.

At least 2 practices per week are required, 3 are recommended. Participation in team dual meets is required. Participation in the 2 NDAC sponsored invitational meets is required, check with your child's coach. 

Group 2 Coach: Jane O'Connor

 

Group 3 - Ages: 11-12  Minimum age: 11 as of December 1 of the current season.  Note: Younger swimmers that have 3 or more AA cut times can be considered for this group in the beginning of the season at the Head Coach’s discretion. Coaching staff may also determine that an older swimmer is better served by staying in this group.

Swimmers should be able to legally swim all four competitive strokes. Group 3 focuses on the refinement of strokes and technique as well as endurance.

At least 3 practices per week are required. Participation in team dual meets and Invitational meets is mandatory.  The goal is to send as many swimmers as possible to Silvers, JOs, and higher championships in our league.

Group 4 - Ages 13&Older  Minimum age: 13 as of December 1 of the current season.  Note: Younger swimmers that have 3 or more AA cut times can be considered for this group in the beginning of the season at the Head Coach’s discretion.

Swimmers should be able to swim all four competitive strokes well. Group 4 further focuses on refinement of strokes, technique, endurance and mental aspects. 

4 practices per week are required. Participation in team dual meets and Invitational meets is mandatory. The goal is to develop swimmers that compete at Senior Mets, Sectionals and higher level meets.
