Sharks Fall Session 2019

Practice Schedule:

For this year there will be three levels: White, Red and Black

White (Beginner: NOT a learn to swim program) Monday & Wednesday 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm. *2 hours a week*

Red (Previously Level 1): Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 5:45 pm - 7:15 pm. *6 hours a week*

Black (Previously Level 2): Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 7:00 pm - 8:45 pm. Wednesday, 6:30 pm-8:00 pm. *6 hours a week*

On Monday evenings, the Red and White levels will overlap for an hour: 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm

 

IMPORTANT FALL INFORMATION:

Evaluations will take place for brand-new swimmers at the start of practice on Wednesday, September 11th 6:00-7:00 pm to assess for skill level/readiness for our program.  The primary requirement is that swimmers can swim the full 25-yard length of the pool without stopping to hold the sides/lane lines, as this presents a safety issue.  Following the evaluations that night, Coach Beth will indicate for each swimmer which level they should attend the rest of the week. We always give new swimmers/families the first week to be sure our program is a good fit before we process payments as a commitment for the season.

ALL swimmers must bring the registration forms (BSSC and USA Swimming-new swimmer only) and payment (though again, we won't process payments right away).  For insurance purposes, we must have the signed forms before your child can be in the pool. 

For the first night, your swimmer should wear a bathing suit and goggles.  Swim caps are recommended, but not mandatory for practice.

We are not a "learn to swim" or "lessons" type of program, and as such, we ask that swimmers have a basic knowledge swimming, and be able to safely swim one lap of a 25-yard pool (for safety reasons, they should not have to stop and hold the wall or lane lines).
