This is our entry level group. The athlete needs to be able to swim a 25 Freestyle and a 25 Backstroke to enter this group. Major emphasis is placed on developing good technique, enhancing physical ability, and nurturing swimming knowledge while having fun and meeting new friends. Entry level swim meets are encouraged for these beginners, with participation designed to encourage personal improvement.
From the Electron group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on developing strength and stamina in all four competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique. Participation in swim meets is expected for these swimmers with emphasis on the team concept, sportsmanship and personal growth.
Sparks group athletes move into this group as they develop their skills, knowledge, and abilities. Athletes in this group are usually experienced and desire greater challenges and success. This group trains while preparing for races across all facets of the competitive spectrum and are expected to attempt a broad cross section of events during the competitive season. Personal growth, friendly competition, and the concept of team is emphasized for these athletes while they work towards established goals.
