Our 3 session will be 10 weeks which starts Saturday April 1 and finish on Saturday June 17, 2017. (no Swimming Easter weekend (15), No swimming Victoria weekend (20)).
What is PARA swimming?
It is a function-based classification system designed to allow for fair competition in disability swimming. The classes are prefixed with "S" for freestyle, butterfly and backstroke events, "SB" for breaststroke and "SM" for individual medley events. Swimmers with physical disabilities are divided into ten classes based on their degree of functional disability. Those with visual impairments are placed in three additional classes. A final class, S14, is reserved for swimmers with intellectual disabilities, also know as Special Olympic.
Our PARA Learn to Swim program is on Saturdays at the YWCA in Saskatoon (510-25th Street East, Saskatoon SK, S7K 4A7). We run two 45-minute Learn to Swim sessions. A-block* is from 11:15 am to 12 pm and B-block is from 12 pm to 12:45 pm.
*Due to our athletes participating in winter sports in January, February and March, we will only have B-Block running if A-block is filled-up.
