Welcome to the 2018 MidStates All-Star Championship Meet Team Indiana Information page.  Below is information concerning eligibility, registration for consideration, and the selection process.


The MidStates All-Star Championships will feature teams from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri Valley, and Ohio (combined Lake Erie and Ohio LSCs). Each team is allowed to enter up to four individuals and two relays per event with the exception of the 1650 yard freestyle. Each Team will be limited to two entries for each age-group and gender of the 1650. Team Indiana will be selected from eligible applicants to create the most competitive line-up for the meet. To be eligible to apply for consideration athletes must:

            1) Be available for BOTH days of competition; Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th.

            2) Have earned a minimum of one National Motivational “AA” Time Standard in an event contested at the Mid-States meet for the age group they will be in on January 6, 2018 during the qualification period of September 1, 2017 – December 10, 2017. SCY "AA" Times can be found [HERE]

            3) *Special Note for High School Swimmers* – The 2018 MidStates All-Star Championships will require a waiver for any swimmer who is also a member of a high school (IHSAA) team. IHSAA regulations allow for a maximum of two waivers per high school season. Waivers are not permitted if the outside competition would require that a high school team member miss a scheduled high school competition. All 14 & under swimmers that are currently a member of an IHSAA team are responsible for checking with both their high school and club coaches regarding any competition conflicts, the use of a waiver for the MidStatesAll-Star Championship meet, and the process of securing a waiver.

Notification of selection to the team will be made following the close of qualifying period, but no later than December 21, 2017.

Deadline for registration application submission is 10:00 PM EST Monday, December 11, 2017.


The Indiana Swimming Coaching staff will consider all eligible applicants for all events in order to select the strongest line-up possible. Applicants will not need to indicate events preferences. IN Swimming will pull all best times achieved during the qualification period from the SWIMS national database   If a performance was achieved at a high school meet, a copy of the results bearing the signature of the meet referee must be received in the Indiana Swimming office via e-mail (intemamanager@gmail.com), FAX (317-237-5783), or US Postal Service by the application deadline of December 11, 2017 in order to be considered. All selected athletes will be notified through the e-mail address provided during the registration application process. A draft of the meet line up will be shared with Team Indiana athletes after confirmation of participation. All line-up decisions including relays are the discretion of the coaching staff
