2020 Swim Season Information

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our current season will be different than in years past. We have implemented the following policies based on state and federal government guidance and guidelines, as well as rules implemented by the City of Maumelle. These policies will be strictly enforced for the safety of our swimmers, coaches, and parents. Adherence to these polices are mandatory and we expect families to respect these rules to ensure a safe and successful season for our team.

UPDATED JUNE 2, 2020

  1. Anyone entering the pool over the age of 10 must wear a mask or similar face covering. Swimmers may remove their masks/face coverings after they come through the breezeway and onto the pool deck.

  2. We will be tracking attendance this year to provide to the city if contact tracing is needed at any point. Please check-in at the table in the breezeway when entering the pool area for practice.

  3. Parents should wear masks when entering and exiting the pool area but may remove their masks once they are sitting to watch practice.

  4. Temperature checks for swimmers, staff and coaches will be taken at the pool entrance. Anyone who has an elevated temperature may not be allowed into the pool area.

  5. If possible, only one parent/guardian/adult will be allowed into the pool area with their swimmer.

  6. The city has signs posted around the pool area regarding chair spacing and social distancing. Please respect these rules and do not move chairs if you want to stay and watch practice. Parents are welcome to drop their swimmer off at the pool entrance at the start of practice and come back to pick up their swimmer.

  7. There will be minimum swimmer requirements to limit hands-on coaching. Swimmers should be able to swim one length of the pool without assistance, or with the use of a kickboard.

  8. Showers will be closed, and the locker rooms should only be used if absolutely necessary.

  9. If you or your swimmer has a fever, sore throat, cough, or other symptoms, please stay home!

The coaches and staff will have hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes on hand to clean surfaces that are used during practice.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a fun and safe season!

Competitive Groups

CASL sets time standards for each age group in each event.  There are Platinum, Gold and Silver time standards.  Any swimmer below the Silver time standard is considered a Bronze level swimmer.  This process lets swimmers compete against other swimmers at their same skill level.  The CASL time standards can be found on the CASL website.

Meet of Champs

CASL’s season usually ends with the Meet of Champs, which is held at UALR.  This year their facilities are closed and we most likely will not be having our Meet of Champs there. If we can have Meet of Champs in another location or at a later date, we use our swimmers times in the league rankings to determine who qualifies. To qualify for Meet of Champs a swimmer must achieve either a Platinum, Gold or Silver time standard.  A select number of Bronze swimmers may also qualify.  An additional fee is usually charged to swim at the Meet of Champs.
