Welcome to Starkville Shockwave Aquatics Team!
We are excited that you are interested in joining Shockwave! We are a year-round swim team that offers competitive swim instruction for all ability levels.
As Shockwave Aquatics Team, we are members of USA Swimming and have monthly and annual fees. All athletes must be registered members of USA Swimming in order to participate. Liability coverage for our athletes is also provided through the USA Swimming membership. The monthly fees cover coaching salaries and pool rental. We rent lanes from the Sanderson Center on the Mississippi State University campus for our practices. The annual registration fee includes the athlete’s USA Swimming registration fee and administrative costs. Please note that meet fees for participation in any swim meets are an additional cost.
All the information you will need to register your athlete with Shockwave Aquatics is included in this packet and the Starkville Shockwave Team Handbook. Please visit our website at Shockwaveswim.com to access the Handbook. Thank you for considering Shockwave as your swim family! We hope to see you in the pool!
Please read through the entire packet and Handbook prior to scheduling your swimmer’s evaluation. Contact us at Shockwaveswim.com or email Coach Savannah at email@example.com to schedule the evaluation or with questions about anything not addressed in this packet.
*Please do not call the Sanderson Center with regard to Shockwave.
NOTE: Your child must have a swimmer evaluation to see if he/she is ready to participate in Shockwave. You may schedule an evaluation by emailing Coach Savannah Eriksen at firstname.lastname@example.org or Shockwaveswim.com. Please review the following list of requirements:
- Participants must be 5 years - 18 years old as of September 1 of the current school year.
- Must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle stroke with face fully in the water & unassisted.
- Must be able to swim 25 yards backstroke with continuous arm movement on the back.
- Must wear competition swim suit, cap, and goggles during practice.
Upon a successful evaluation, coaches will assign your athlete to a practice group. You will then go online to Shockwaveswim.com and complete the online portion of registration. Online registration is available year-round, upon successful swimmer evaluation. You must complete the online portion of the registration BEFORE coming to your first practice. Once you register online, you will receive a confirmation that your registration has been approved.
All policies and procedures for Shockwave can be found in this Registration packet and the Handbook.
