Swim Groups

The St. Cloud Aquatic Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of different ages and ability levels. It is the goal of S.C.A.T. to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Spirit

This is our entry level group. An athlete will have to pass a try out to enter into this group. Athletes in this group focus mainly on swim technique for the four competitive strokes, swimming legal strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.

Workout Days/Times vary by season: 

Winter       Mon-Fri 5-6:45pm

Spring       Mon-Fri 5-7pm

Summer (when school is out)  Mon-Fri 6:30-8am  

Fall  (when school starts to the beginning of November)        

                 Mon 6-7:30pm, Tues 5:30-7pm,  Thurs 5:30-7pm,  Fri 6-7:30pm,  Sat 9-11am 

Courage

Minimum age for entry into this group is 10 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Athletes will be preparing for the 200 and the 500 Freestyle as well as the 200 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month.

Ambition

Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training begins to take precedence over technique work for the first time in the athlete's development. Athletes in this group train for the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyles.

Please note that all coaches are certified to teach all our levels.  For best coverage coaches may teach any level as needed throughout the year.
