USA Swimming Safe Sport Program

USA Swimming's Safe Sport Program actively examines any complaint alleging that a member has violated its Code of Conduct. Reporting inappropriate behavior is the key to stopping that behavior. USA Swimming requires any person with credible and specific information regarding misconduct or abuse to report it to USA Swimming Safe Sport Program staff.

The Safe Sport website includes USA Swimming policies and guidelines and training and education. There is contact information for the Safe Sport staff and directions on how to report misconduct. Please click the link below for important information.

2018 2017 2016

USA Swimming is excited to announce the 2017 Safe Sport Leadership Conference!

The 2017 Conference is our 3rd Safe Sport Leadership Conference. The 2013 and 2015 Conferences were great successes and we are looking forward to bringing you an even better experience in 2017! The theme for this year's Conference is One Team, One Goal and it is our objective to send attendees home with tangible, actionable tools that can be employed immediately to create a culture of safety at your club or LSC. This conference is ideal for Zone, LSC and club leadership - we're encouraging coaches and board members to attend together and return home with a plan to foster a Safe Sport environment at their club. Please use the attached flyer to promote the Conference to your LSC's clubs and coaches.

The Conference will be held at the Denver Gateway Marriott, January 22-23, 2017. There is no registration fee for USA Swimming attendees. More information including speaker bios and conference program to come. Registration opens November 15. More Information here.

Safe Sport Athlete Fellowship Class of 2017

The application link to apply for the Safe Sport Athlete Fellowship Class of 2017 will go live on September 19, 2016 at and be open through October 28.

Please click on this announcement and circulate this broadly to coaches and athletes in your LSCs. If you have an athlete in mind who would be a good fit for this program, encourage them to apply or pass their name along to me.

The 2016 Athlete Fellows continue to do a fantastic job as ambassadors for Safe Sport, and we are making final preparations for their next Leadership Institute in Chicago this coming weekend. The insights and feedback from this group are invaluable to shaping the program for future classes, and I'm looking forward to sharing elements of our Leadership Institute with the committee and chairs next week in Atlanta.
