The Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (WCAC), is a parent-run swim organization that offers training and competition at all levels in the sports of swimming and diving. WCAC is a member club of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming.
Within the SAL league, WCAC is a member of the National Conference, in the South-West Division. Dual meets are held beginning in November against other clubs in the same division on Saturdays. SAL championship meets begin in January and culminate in the League Champtionships the first weekend in February. The team also encourages participation in SAL Invitational meets, usually held on Sundays.
The WCAC USA swim team is offered along side the SAL swim and dive team during the winter season, with the goal to qualify for Junior Olympics. The winter season runs from September to January. Beginning in February the US swim team converts to a monthly training program that prepares swimmers for winter Junior Olympics in March and other US sanctioned meets through July. For additional information on US Swimming, please refer to the USA Swim tab on the website.
The club is a community-based 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors that meets monthly. WCAC will be starting the 2017-2018 season at the Wissahickon Middle School pool. By the end of October 2017, WCAC will be making the move across the street where Wissahickon High School will be opening a new state of the art natatorium!
WCAC strives to provide the youth of our community the opportunity to reach their highest personal potential as both an individual and an athlete. We understand that winning is much more than one's place in the finish of a race, and we are committed to helping our swimmers develop their self-esteem and pride through both individual achievement and teamwork.
