This group is for ages 3 and over and designed for any ability level. They meet for 30 minutes once per week.
Pre-Team is for the advanced swim lesson student looking for more of a challenge, and for younger swimmers not yet interested in or ready to swim 3 days per week and meets for 45 minutes.
As part of being a member of HEAT Swimming you are expected to participate in at least the two HEAT hosted swim meets
Stroke Development 1:
This group is for swimmers with basic swimming skills. Our primary goal is to teach proper stroke technique in all four strokes. SD1 meets three times a week for 45 minutes per session. The swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (one length) freestyle without stopping to join this group. Swimmer's in this group are typically 9 years old and younger.Swimmers will advance from SD1 to either SD2 or Jr. Age Group based on individual circumstances.

Stroke Development 2:
Swimmers in SD2 will continue refining technique in all four strokes while learning turns, starts and basic racing strategy. Participants should have enough stamina and concentration to remain focused on executing proper skills throughout the entire practice. SD2 meets three times a week for 60 minutes per session. The swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards (two lengths) of freestyle and backstroke without stopping and have the coach’s approval to join this group and are typically 9-14 years old. Swimmers will usually advance from SD2 to Jr. Age Group(JAG) or Sr. Development.

Junior Age Group (JAG):
"JAG" swimmers must be consistently "legal" in all four strokes and competing in the 100 Individual Medley (IM) on a regular basis. This group meets three times a week for 75 minutes per session. Swimmer's making a mid-season move to JAG must maintain 5 x 50 freestyle on the minute. Swimmer's are typically 8 years or older. Swimmers generally advance to Age Group upon coaches recommendation.
Junior Age Group Coach: Theresa Beck/Jeremy Rosen
Swimmers must be consistently "legal" in all four strokes and competing in the 200 Individual Medley (IM) on a regular basis and have achieved at least one 9/10 BB time standard and be able to maintain break out strokes, no breathing inside the flags on a finish, a strong work ethic and maintain 5x100 freestyle on a 1:30 interval. Swimmers are typically 10-14 years old.This group meets four times a week for 90 minutes per session. Swimmers typically advance to Senior or Sr. Prep or Sr. Development based on coaches’ recommendation.
Age Group Coach: Sally Stevens
Must be able to swim a 100 free, 100 back, and either a 100 breast or a 100 fly without stopping. This group is geared toward developing the stamina and skills necessary for successful participation in the more challenging Sr. Prep and swim meets. They meet 3 times a week for 60 minutes sessions and once a week for 90 minutes.
Senior Development Coach: Theresa Beck
This group is home to high school students who are legal in all four strokes with interests too diverse to make the commitment required for the more advanced Senior group, but have the skills to keep up with the Senior team. Placement in this group is by coach's recommendation. Four, 90-minute sessions are offered per week.
Senior Prep Coach: Diana Rosen
Swimmers must have at least one 13-14 Ozark BB Championships time standard as published elsewhere. The swimmers must be able to perform all 4 competitive strokes, be able to maintain 6 -100 Freestyle on a 1:20 interval, are expected to attend meets and make a commitment to the senior team . andSix sessions are offered per week lasting anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 1/2 hours each.
