Recreational Classes

Oakland Rhythmics offers recreational classes for gymnasts of all ages, no experience needed!  Our programs are for girls who like to dance, leap, spin and tumble.  The girls perform routines to music using various hand apparatus including the ball, ribbon, hoop and jump rope.  The classes promote the development of strength, coordination, and flexibility for girls in a safe, fun and progressive setting.

Girls arrive to class with their hair in a neat pony tail, wearing close-fitting, stretchy clothing.  Rhythmic apparatus (hoops, ropes, ribbons, etc...) are provided.  The girls perform a show for parents and friends on the last day of the session and at the ORG Gymnastics Gala in the spring.

Rhythmic Stars

Ages 4th - 8th grade

Rhythmic Stars is a non-competitive level for older girls who are excited to learn and perform the sport of Rhythmic Gymnastics and may have prior experience in related sports.  With a 1 hour/week commitment, this class focuses on the fundamentals of Rhythmic Gymnastics with safe and quicker progressions.

Gymnasts perform to music by linking ballet inspired body skills and pre-acrobatic tumbling elements, with apparatus technical movements.
