Coach Larry Oshiro

Head Coach Larry Oshiro started competitive swimming as a teenager at Palama Settlement and later swam at McKinley High School, under the legendary coach, Harry Mamizuka. After graduating from McKinley, Larry attended Shasta Jr. College in Redding, California and later the University of Oregon, where he continued swimming.

Larry started to coach swimming at Palama Settlement in 1966 and in 1972, joined McKinley High School staff as a swim coach; a position he still holds. In 1979, when Harry Mamizuka formed Manoa Aquatics, Larry was asked to join the club.

Coach Larry was inducted into the Hawaiian Swimming Hall of Fame in October 2015. Congratulations Coach!

Coach Kaysha Izumoto

Assistant Coach Kaysha Izumoto started swimming at the age of three. She first competed at district swim meets for Manoa in 1998 before joining Manoa Aquatics in 2000. She swam under both Coach Larry and Coach Chris during her six years at Manoa Aquatics. In High School she competed for Pac-5 and lettered in swimming all four years for Hawaii Baptist Academy. Kaysha was a member of Pac-5 waterpolo team and a member of HBA?s volleyball and cross-county teams. After three years at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas she transferred to Hawaii Pacific University to pursue a career in Nursing. Coach Kaysha joined Manoa Aquatics coaching staff in June 2009.

Coach Ky Wong

Assistant Coach Ky Wong started swimming at the age of 6 months at the Kaimuki YMCA. He started competing in YMCA sponsored swim meets from the age of 6 years old until he started High School. At McKinley High School, he swam under Coach Larry, where he lettered in swimming all four years. He joined Manoa Aquatics in 2008 and competed at the 2012 Western Zones Championship meet as part of Team Hawaii. Coach Ky also does Open Water races locally, such as the North Shore Series and the Waikiki Roughwater swim on Labor Day. He graduated from Hawaii Tokai University with an Associates Degree with a Minor in Peace Studies. He graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, with a Bachelors Degree in Japanese Studies in 2016. Coach Ky joined the Manoa Aquatics coaching staff in January 2014, and is currently on leave in Japan for a year teaching English.

Coach Courtney Oh

Assistant Coach Courtney first learned to swim at the Nuuanu YMCA at the age of 4 and continued until the age of 14. Starting at McKinley High School in 2012, she joined the McKinley High School swim team and swam under Coach Larry for all 4 of her high school years which were all at the Varsity level (she swam both junior varsity and varsity her freshman year.) She joined Manoa Aquatics in 2013 and has been a part of it's ohana ever since. Her favorite strokes are the backstroke and freestyle. She graduated from McKinley High School in 2016 and is currently pursuing her AAT degree at LCC and is scheduled to graduate December 2017. She will then continue her education to receive a Bachelor's degree in Education.
