Our Junior level program is formed of three different groups based on skill level: Junior 1, Junior 2, and Junior 3. Our Junior level swimmers learn the basics of competitive swimming while they develop the foundations for all four strokes as they progress through each Program. Many of our Junior swimmers compete at local swim meets.
This is our entry level group. The primary objective for the Junior I group is to develop the skills involved in swimming by developing the freestyle and backstroke. Swimmers develop a "feel" for the water at they develop body control, leg propulsion, and stable movement patterns. We emphasize the need for swimmers to have fun while training in a safe controlled atmosphere. Improvement in the water correlates with physical growth and development during this time of their lives.
Junior I Group Coach: Adam Depmore and Dax Hill
Workout Days/Times: T/TH 3:30-4pm
This is the first step an athlete takes in preparing for competition. Here the athletes develops the 4 competitive strokes in a safe/fun atmosphere. A greater emphasis is placed on dives and streamlines as athletes in the Junior 2 group are encouraged to attend 6 meets a year.
Junior 2 Group Coach: Adam Depmore, Brendon Leach and Dax Hill
Workout Days/Times: J2a T/TH 4-5pm, J2b T/TH 5-6pm
From the Junior 2 group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually at least 9 years old and have completed the Silver Group move-up skills list. The physical demands of training take center stage as volume and intensity increase at a much faster rate. A greater amount of time and effort is placed in developing the short axis strokes (Breast and Fly). Technique work and fine-tuning is essential for this group, as swimmers are trained mastering the most acute points of swimming. Junior III swimmers are also encouraged to compete in 6 meets a year. This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 200 Freestyle and 200 Individual Medley races.

Workout Days/Times: J3a MWF 4-5pm, J3b MWF 5-6pm
High Performance Groups
Minimum age for entry into this group is 10 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Swimmers at this level feel further demands as athlete in this group are required to train 5 days a week. Practices become more specific and additional emphasis is placed on performance criteria for practice and meets. Practices become more individualized and swimmers are expected to accept responsibility for their improvement. Senior swimmers compete in more than 6 meets a year.
Senior Group Coach: Adam Depmore
Workout Days/Times: MWF 5-6:30pm, T-TH 5-5:30pm (dryland) 5:30-6:30pm swim
Minimum age for entry into this group is 11 (girls) or 12 (boys). Athletes entering the Elite group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, as each member learns to master his or her own talents. Athletes in the Elite group are directed towards making their TAGS, Sectional and National Time Standards.
