Trenton Swim Club - Trenton, MI
Trenton Swim Club was established in 1967 with the vision to spark a passion for youth competitive swimming. We are located in Trenton, Michigan and encourage swimmers aged 6-18 to become members. Trenton Swim Club is a member of the Downriver Recreation League and Michigan USA Swimming. Our goal is to train and encourage young swimmers to strive for excellence in the sport of swimming, using the same dedication and skill set learned with our club in all areas of their lives.
Work Out Structure
During practice the coaches evaluate each individual swimmers' strengths and weaknesses. The coaches are there to provide feedback to correct the stroke. During the work out there will be sets created to develop endurance and strength for all strokes. Also, the coaches will work with the swimmers on the details that make them better swimmers (starts, turns, etc).
These meets are scheduled between two individual swim teams who participate in the Downriver Recreation League. They are relaxed fun meets that are composed of two individual events and two relay events (contingent on enough swimmers being in the age-group to fill the relays.)
These meets are a great way of showing new swimmers the structure of swim meets and preparing them for Middle School, High School or USA meets.
USA Sanctioned Meets
These meets are for swimmers who wish to compete at a higher level of competition and have USA coaching officials. Swimmers that compete in USA meets also have the chance to obtain times that allow them to make state, sectional, regional, and national meets. These meets are optional. Any further questions you have can be answered by our coaching staff. The Michigan Swimming website is another resource if swimmers wish to know more about the USA Meets.
We typically attend USA meets located in the Detroit Metro area. These meets are primarily on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Note that all technique rules are highly regulated at these meets.
Mailboxes are located at the Trenton High School and Arthur's Middle School pools and are used for communication between coaches, swimmers, and parents. Each registered swimmer has their own mailbox designated by their last name. There are also folders for monthly fees, meet registration, meet details, and meet envelopes. Please check the mailboxes often for new information.
We always looking for willing volunteers to help with the following:
- Timers at meets
- Swim Parties (Halloween, Holiday, and End of the Year Parties)
- Fund raisers
Most importantly it is your club - feel free to give us ideas, feedback, and have fun with the kids!
