Team Swim Suits And Equipment
The team suit is required for all swimmers. The suit design is usually kept for two to three seasons. It is recommended swimmers only wear the official team suit for competition to extend the life of the suit. Note: For all personal swim equipment, please mark with a Sharpie with your swimmer’s name for easy identification.
The team suit is NEW for Winter 2017-18 season. Elsmore Swim Shop has the new suits in stock and you may purchase now, but they won't be required until the winter 2017-18 season. New 2017 summer swim team members should wait to purchase until they've been confirmed for the winter 2017-18 season.
Competition suits are available for purchase through online retailers and our preferred team store:

Team Swim Caps
Elsmore Swim Shop coordinates our cap orders and usually we offer an online order option at the start of each season. Head Coach keeps a very limited supply of non-personalized caps which may be offered for sale towards the end of season. Winter 2017 season cap orders are due Sept. 25.
Caps are required for swimmers with long hair. Only YMCA approved caps can be worn at meets, please use your “camp” caps for practice. For swimmers with shorter hair caps are NOT required but encouraged.
- Custom w/name – 2 caps per name $29.00/set only available during winter season
- Silicone w/out name – $11 each
Every swimmer should also have a pair of competition type swimming goggles. Please do not buy the cheap kind that you can get at the drug store. Those are generally for recreation use and will not work well for your swimmer. Younger swimmers do much better with one piece type goggles – less parts, mean less confusion and equate to much more productive practices and meets. Also make sure that you purchase goggles that will fit your swimmer’s face. They do come in adult and children sizes. Lastly, please come to practice with your goggles ready to be worn. Adjust the nose pieces and straps at home before you come to practice. The coaches do not have time to adjust goggles and coach at the same time.
Every swimmer should also have swim fins. Periodically at the start of each winter season we hold an optional swim fin exchange to allow our families with older swimmers to (cheaply) sell used fins their swimmers have out grown. You can also purchase them at local sporting goods retailers and online at swimoutlet.com.
The equipment above is required. Your swimmer may also wish to obtain these optional pieces of equipment:
