Coach - Lee Wright
Lee's passion for swimming began at an early age. He was an All State Swimmer in 1983 and 1984 at McCallie School. While swimming at Blue Ridge High School, he was named All State in 1985 and 1986 and received All-American designation in freestyle and butterfly. He also lettered in Cross Country and Track. After graduating from high school he attended University of Tennessee as a college athlete and specialized in the 100 and 200 butterfly and the 1650 freestyle.
Lee spent several years after college coaching and serving in various aquatic leadership roles. He became the Assistant Aquatics Director for Chattanooga YMCA where he supervised staff, taught swim lessons, and started a Masters Swim Team while serving as the Assistant Coach for the team. Lee spent his next eight years faithfully serving the US Navy where he attended the Hospital Corpsman School. He graduated top two in his class and was awarded Junior Sailor of the Year and was a SAR Swimmer School Honor Graduate.
It was his son's love of swimming that drew Lee back into coaching. Over the past several years he has served as an age group coach and was actively involved in developing the Aiken Pacer Aquatic Club in 2017.
Lee is married to Margaret Parrish, a dentist in Aiken, and resides in Augusta with his two children, AJ (10) and Ava (4). Contact Coach Lee at email@example.com.
