Welcome! This is the official page of the Central Zone Athlete Division, which aims to holistically represent athletes from the Central Zone's 15 LSCs. The Central Zone Athlete Division is headed by the Central Zone Athlete Representative, a member of the USA Swimming Athletes Executive Committee who serves as chair of the Central Zone Athlete Committee.
The responsibilities and focuses of the Central Zone Athlete Committee are as follows:
- To promote and encourage inter-LSC communication between athlete representatives of the Central Zone at the annual USAS Convention and throughout the year.
- To train, encourage, and mentor incoming LSC athlete representatives, and provide them with tools to ensure success.
- To ensure 20% athlete representation at the annual Central Zone Meeting and on all Central Zone Committees and Task Forces.
- To ensure that non-athletes understand the unique perspective that athlete members bring to the table.

Meet Your Leadership Team
Jack Swanson - Central Zone Athlete Representative - Minnesota Swimming
Jack Swanson currently serves as the Central Zone Representative on the USA Swimming Athletes Executive Committee. He was elected to this position in September 2016 at the United States Aquatic Sports Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Swanson has served as an athlete representative since October 2013. He currently serves nationally as a member of USA Swimming's Governance Committee and locally as Minnesota Swimming's Nominating Committee Chair and Open Water Chair. Swanson has also served as the Athlete Committee Vice Chair on the Minnesota Swimming Board of Directors, and on the Senior, Technical Planning, Open Water, Meet Scheduling, and Finance Committees. Swanson is certified as a USA Swimming official and has worked meets of many levels, from novice level meets to zone championship meets. Swanson is a 2015 graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret's High School and attends Pomona College in Claremont, California, where he is majoring in Biology.
Brad Jacobs - Central Zone Athlete Committee Vice Chair - Indiana Swimming
Bradley Jacobs currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Central Zone Athlete Committee. He was appointed to this position in September 2016 by the Chair of the Central Zone Athlete Committee at the United States Aquatic Sports Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Jacobs has served as an athlete representative since 2013, and is currently serving his third term on the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations Committee and second term on the USA Swimming National Board of Review. Jacobs has previously served as the Junior, Senior, and At-Large Athlete Representative on the Indiana Swimming Board of Directors. Jacobs is a 2015 graduate of Fishers High School in Fishers, Indiana and is currently studying towards a Bachelors of Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Patrick Hunter - Central Zone Athlete Committee Secretary - Minnesota Swimming
Patrick Hunter currently serves as an athlete representative on the USA Swimming National Officials Committee. He has been involved as an athlete representative since April 2013, when he was elected to the Board of Directors of Minnesota Swimming. In addition to his service on the Board of Directors, Patrick has been involved in Minnesota Swimming's technical planning and strategic planning initiatives, and has served for two years on the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations Committee. Hunter is also involved in USA Swimming as an official, where he has officiated at various levels from age group meets to national championships. Hunter is a junior in the Carroll School of Management Honors Program at Boston College and is a 2015 graduate of Benilde-St. Margaret's High School.
