Although swimming is considered an “individual sport”, it is also a “team sport”. While we seek to promote fun, we do ask that each swimmer commits to giving his/her best effort at all times in order to improve his/her individual performance, and to help the team.
The Quail Hill Swim Team (QHST) normally offers practices five days a week. You can attend as many or as little practices as you want. However, keep in mind that you get out of it what you put in. It is a great way for our swimmers to get daily exercise and to improve their stroke techniques with our professional staff.
The QHST practice will be organized by age groups, and will generally last 45 –75 minutes, depending on the age group, every Monday through Friday during the summer, except for holidays.
In addition to our regular practice times, there will be periodic optional special clinics taught by our coaches to focus on key skills - e.g. Starts & Finishes, Turns, etc...
We ask that parents follow swim team etiquette by not interrupting and talking to coaches during practice. Also, please make sure your kids use the restroom before each practice starts.
**ISL Advance Qualifiers age group Practice is for ages 9+ and this year we have added an 8 and Under group. In order for an 8 & Under swimmer to qualify for this group practice time they will need to have 4 ISL time cuts in their age group. (Please refer to ISL website for those time standards.)
