This program is intended for the swimmer that is not quite ready for the commitment and intensity of club team training, and teaches proper mechanics for all four competitive strokes, starts, and turns. Whether the goal is to get ready for summer rec swimming, to prepare for the club team experience, or to just fine tune one’s skills, swimmers will meet twice a week to work with one of our experienced coaches. No competitions.

Dates: 4/23-7/29 (Practice times/locations* vary- see our calendar or info sheet for details)
For those swimmers who are ready for more extensive training, or wish to continue their training and growth from the Short Course season (Fall/Winter), we offer a competitive Long Course program. Swimmers who participated in our previous season’s Short Course team are invited to participate and continue their training; other swimmers may tryout. The season runs from the end of April through the end of July, and practices are from three to five days a week (depending on practice group). Swimmers become members of USA Swimming, and we participate in long course competitions around the state.
Junior 1&2 (approx. ages 7-12) Our entry-level group for our younger competitive swimmers. This group ranges from learning the four strokes, starts, and turns to those who are fairly proficient in them but require technical guidance. Swimmers must already be acclimated to the water, and have some swimming experience/competency. 3 times per week (approx. 3 hours/week)
Intermediate (approx. ages 11-15) Predominantly a technique driven group for our Pre-teens. This group also exposes the swimmer to training for the first time, and offering a more intensive experience for those ready to put in the extra work. Participants may be split into different groups based upon ability and age.4 times per week (approx. 8 hours/week)
Senior (approx. ages 14-18) Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Training takes an equal role to technique work for the first time in the athlete’s development. Athletes entering the Senior group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level they are capable of. Training is geared towards individual talents, and developing a strong aerobic endurance base. Strength conditioning through dryland training is included. Participants may be split into different groups based upon ability and age.5 times per week (approx. 11 hours/week)
