Meet Your Somerset Dolphins Coaches and Junior Coaches!

Kristina Lennox, Head Coach

Kristina Lennox is looking forward to her second season with the Somerset Dolphins, now as Head Coach. Kristina is a 2007 Villanova University graduate, receiving a double major in Communications and Spanish as well as a Business minor. She was a top Division I swimmer all four years and ended her collegiate career as Big East Champion in the 200 Butterfly. After graduation, Kristina represented Puerto Rico, swimming in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2009 Rome World Championships. She still owns four country records in the 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly, 200m free and 400m free. Currently, Kristina is a Project Manager at Georgetown Day School. She can be reached at 847-708-6020 and is available for private swim lessons. 

 
Alex Brosvik, Assistant Head Coach
 
 
Alex is joining the Somerset Dolphins as Assistant Head Coach this swim season after recently graduating from American University, where she majored in International Studies with a minor in Arabic. Alex was a top swimmer at AU, specializing in sprint free and breast events. She was a women’s team captain her last two years, was named MVP for her team her sophomore year, and holds five individual and five relay top 16 times at AU. She finished her collegiate career at the Patriot League Conference meet where she finaled in the 100 breast and helped set school records in the 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relays. Alex is looking forward to trading in her red, white, and blue for a whole lot of purple this summer!
 
 

Danny Brown, Junior Coach

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Danny is a recent graduate of B-CC High School. He has been on the swim team for 12 years, originally as a Mini. Ella has been a dolphin for the past six years. She is excited for her seventh year on the team and her second year as a junior coach. Before becoming a junior coach, Ella coached Minis. Kesh Khanna, Junior Coach

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kesh is a recent graduate of BCC High School and this will be his 13th year as a Dolphin.  He started as a Mini and has been a summer swimmer every year.  Kesh can be reached at 202-304-9104.  He is looking forward to another great year as a junior coach and swimmer. 

David Panner, Junior Coach

This is David’s first year as a junior coach on the Somerset swim team. He spent three years as a minis coach and has spent 7 years on the Somerset swim team. He also swims for the Capital Sea Devils as well as BCC swim and dive. Mikey is excited to return for her 9th year as a Dolphin.  Mikey has been a committed swimmer since the age of 6, swims year-round for Nations Capital Swim Club and also swam for her high school swim team at Sidwell Friends School. Emily Smith, Junior Coach

 

Emily is excited to return for her 11th year as a Somerset swimmer. Emily swims year-round for Nations Capital Swim Club and is a rising senior at BCC High School where she is also on the swim team. She has been a Minis coach for the prior three summers and is excited for her second year as a junior coach this summer. Samantha is excited for her second year as a coach and 11th year as a Somerset swimmer. She is a rising senior at BCC High School, where she is a member of the swim team. Samantha swims with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and has been swimming competitively for the past 10 years. Delia Vanderzon, Junior Coach

Delia is so happy to get to be part of the Dolphins coaching staff this year after an awesome 12 previous years on the team!  She went to both Somerset and Westland and is now going into her senior year at BCC, where she is a member of the soccer team and captain of the swim team.  She also swims for Nations Capital Swim Club year-round and is looking forward to a great season with the Dolphins.  Although private lessons may be hard to come by this year, she can also coach dry land workouts if necessary.  You can reach her at 301-312-2790 or drvanderzon@gmail.com.

Nicole is so excited to return to Somerset for her 13th season as a swimmer and third season as a junior coach. She graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School this spring and will attend Georgetown University in the fall, where she intends to major in International Politics. She also swims year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and was a member of the B-CC Swim and Dive Team. Berret is very excited for her third year as a Somerset coach after 12 years of swimming with the Dolphins. Berret was a Minis coach for 3 years before becoming a junior coach, and has had 9 years of competitive winter swimming experience with SDS, Tollefson, and NCAP. She is a rising senior at Georgetown Day School, where she is also a member of the swim team. Berret would be happy to give private lessons throughout the summer and can be reached at 301-318-3733 if needed.
