Swim Groups

RACE offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the RACE to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Tryouts will be held on Tuesday, August 14 for the 2108/2019 swim season. Swimmers must be at least 5 and able to swim the length of the pool with their face in the water.

R Group

This training group is for committed and motivated young swimmers and emphasizes serious training in preparation for higher levels of swimming. The group will focus on stroke refinement, aerobic training, and strength building. Swimmers in this level are generally age 10-14 years of age. Plan to train and travel for competition. 

R Group Coach: Gwen, Eric, Logan and Mr. Valli
Workout Days/Times: M-F ( after school till Varsity starts) Nov. move to 6:15 pm. 
  We will offer Saturday practice. Need to refer to calendar for schedule.

 

A Group

Minimum age for entry into this group is 10 years old. Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training technique work is still important at this level for athlete's development.  Cleaner the technique faster the swimmer. Athletes in this group train for the 200 Individual Medley and 500 Freestyles.


A Group Coach: All
Workout Days/Times: M-Friday 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm   Occasionally Saturday AM practice 

 

C Group

This group is our intermediate level ages 9-13.  This group is exposed to training for the first time while trying to prepare for the 100 Freestyle and 100 Individual Medley races. Competing at swim meets is highly encouraged at a rate of about once per month. Must be able to swim all four strokes legally in order to move up to A group. 


C Group Coach: All
Workout Days/Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday  5:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

 

E Group

This program is designed to introduce young swimmers to the sport of swimming. Athletes in this group are usually 8 years old and younger. In this group focus is mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.
E Group Coach: All
Workout Days/Times: Monday, Thursday and Friday - 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

 

Varsity

 This training group provides an opportunity for high school swimmers to develop and improve skills and fitness levels necessary to train and compete. The opportunity to progress to higher groups exists for those swimmers willing to put in the necessary time and commitment.
