Head coaches Rick and Heidi Creed live in Chateau Elan and have been coaching the Wahoos together since the beginning. Rick Creed is currently head swimming coach at Mill Creek High School.  Heidi joined Rick in coaching the high school team in 2014.  They have two daughters, Marlie and Sommers.

Coach Rick Creed earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Georgia State University.  Prior to that, he taught mathematics and coached swimming, football, and baseball from 1981-1984 at Redan High School, and from 1986-1991 at Stone Mountain High School.  From 1984 to 1986 he attended the University of Montana where he earned his Masters Degree in Mathematics Education.  In Montana, he was a graduate assistant in the Mathematics Department of the University of Montana and he coached both USS and high school swimming.  He went to high school at Towers High in DeKalb County where he held the school record for 100 breaststroke. He continued to be a standout swimmer at Georgia State where he held the school record for 200 breaststroke. He served one year as an assistant coach at GSU after graduation.  Equally as impressive, he was named captain of his college team his junior year.  Coach Creed is currently the President of the Georgia High School Swim Coaches Association and was the 2002 Parkview and Gwinnett County Teacher-of-the-Year.  He recently completed his second year as the Head Swimming Coach at Mill Creek High School where the girls finished in 10th place and the boys 26th at the recent High School Championship Meet. Coach Creed was also named the 2002 National High School Boys Swimming Coach of the Year.

He enjoyed phenomenal success at Parkview. His and his teams’ honors include:

  • Boys State Champs – 1995, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2002
  • Girls State Champs – 1997 and 1998
  • Boys Gwinnett County Champs - 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002
  • Girls Gwinnett County Champs – 1997, 1998
  • Georgia Coach of the Year – 1993, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2002
  • Gwinnett Coach of the Year – 1993, 1994, 1996, and 1998

    

Coach Heidi Creed. As an age-group swimmer, Heidi swam under Frank Keefe who, at present, is the coach for Yale University.  Just last year Frank Keefe was entered into the SWIMMING HALL OF FAME.  Heidi continued her love for the sport at Ohio University where she placed and competed in the Mid American Conference.   Heidi was also the Head USS coach for the Missoula Aquatic Club in Missoula Montana 1983-1985 where her team won two State Championships titles.  Heidi also coached two powerful USS swim programs in Atlanta Georgia, Dynamo Swim Club and Swim Atlanta.  Heidi has developed many age-group swimmers that are now competing at the Olympic Level and are top collage swimmers in the country.  Heidi continues her love for swimming as she nurtures young swimmers into the sport through Summer League Swimming in Gwinnett County.  Her dream is to one day have her own swimming facility so she can give many swimmers the opportunity to be great Athletes and people.  Heidi has been an Art Teacher for 17 years and at present she is teaching at Jones Middle School in Buford Georgia.  Heidi is also an illustrator and watercolor artist.  She has illustrated many schools in Gwinnett County and famous buildings in Washington D.C.

Katie Grant, President & GCSL Co-Council  

Katie Grant has lived in Chateau Elan since 2009, and her children have been part of the CE Swim Team for four years. Her previous experience as a church Board of Trustees member, meeting planner and account manager will be an asset to her new role.  Katie has had a love for the sport of swimming since she swam summer league as a child.

Torie West, Vice President & GCSL Co-Council  

Torie West has lived in Chateau Élan for 9 years, and her daughter has been part of the CE SwimTeam for the past two years. Torie has 25 years of experience managing a large multi-physician practice.  She has also worked with local high school athletic teams and coaches. Torie enjoys supporting her daughter's love of swimming through the CE summer swim league, where she can improve her swimming skills and learn the principles of good sportsmanship.

Lee Skidmore, Treasurer

Lee Skidmore has lived in Chateau Élan since 2008 and his children have been active on the CE Swim Team since 2010.  He is a sales director for a large, global telecommunications firm and has an MBA in Finance.  Lee has served as a treasurer for a committee at his local church and enjoys coaching youth sports and cheering for his three sons each season at swim meets.

Danielle Habeeb, Secretary

Danielle Habeen has lived in Chateau Elan since 2014, and her children have been Wahoo swimmers since 2012. Danielle has ten years of experience as a Middle school Math teacher and is currently a full time substitute for Gwinnett County Schools.  She has volunteered her time on committees at schools, church and for local athletic teams. She enjoys cheering for her children at swim meets! ​

Robbie Crozier, Member At Large  

Robbie Crozier and his wife Melanie have lived in Braselton since 2005, and their 3 children have been on the CE Swim Team since 2010.  He currently serves on his church's finance team and has been a Senior Loan Officer in Atlanta for the past 13 years.  Robbie, also a previous owner of a Chick-fil-A restaurant, enjoys playing and coaching all kinds of sports.

Rick Creed, Head Coach   (Coaching Responsibilities and Oversee Asst. Coaches )

Coach Creed held his high school record in the 100 breaststroke, as well as the college record in the 200 breaststroke at Georgie State University. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education. Coach Creed was also named the 2002 National High School Boys Swimming Coach of the Year. 

Coach Creed is currently having great success as Head Swimming Coach at Mill Creek High School, where he is coaching alongside his equally talented wife, Coach Heidi Creed.  Rick and Heidi have lived in Chateau Élan since 2004.  

Julie Tashlein, Served as Vice President & Co-counsel Season 2015

CE Resident Julie Tashlein served as VP and GCSL co-counsel for 2015 season. Julie has been a teacher for 17 years and currently teaches 8th grade science at Osborne Middle School.  Julie swam competitively in her youth and continues to enjoy the sport cheering on her daughters at both Wahoo and USS meets. 

Jason Webster, Served as Member at large 2015 & 2016  

Jason Webster has lived in Chateau Élan since 2004, and his children have been Wahoo swimmers for two years.  Jason played football at Texas A&M, where he was voted by his teammates as the winner of the Aggie Heart Award. He is a retired pro athlete and he serves as Chaplain for a professional football team.  Jason enjoys supporting and cheering on his four children at swim meets.
