Holiday Break

Good evening parents and skiers,

Hope you are all doing well when this reaches you, we had another great weekend skiing with our athletes this past Saturday. We are very appreciative of all the hard work our skiers and coaches have put in despite the limited terrain. I have recieved several emails regarding our holiday break schedule and so I am sending this email out in an effort to keep you all informed. In addition to our regular Saturday training sessions, we will be skiing Wednesday, December 27th and Wednesday, January 3rd from 9:30 AM to 3 PM. These sessions are a great opportunity for our team to sharpen their skills before the competition season begins.

In the next couple weeks the slopes will surely be packed with locals and tourists alike. It is very important that we emphasize the importantance of conscious, safe skiing to our young skiers. I am asking all of our skiers' parents to remind our athletes to ski responsibly, and it is vital that they listen to their coaches when navigating the inevitable congestion of our runs at this time of year. During peak seasons we always emphasize that we are stewards of the Ski and Snowboard Club and that we treat all of the guests and employees of the resort with respect. The continued progression of our team is a top priorority, but safety is absolutely crucial to our success moving forward. Thank you all for your continued patience and support. See you all on the hill!

      Thanks for your time,

IMPORTANT: EVENT REGISTRATION

Good afternoon skiers and parents,

Thank you to all of our athletes who attended the first day of training yesterday and made the best of the limited terrain. We have a phenomenal group of skiers and a great team of coaches to support them! This is huge week in terms of event registration I am reaching out to make sure you are all well informed throughout the process. I have been recieving a lot of emails regarding technical difficulties that have occured while trying to register for the Telluride Regional Event. After visiting the registration site and selecting your skier's age group, you will be asked to enter a password. To finalize your registration simply enter the code TeamTelluride. In the event that your age group has no more openings, sign up for a "Waiting List" spot. Because this competition is at our home mountain, the IFSA has said they will accommodate our skiers on this list with a spot in the event. If you have any further questions with this process feel free to call or text this afternoon/evening.

National Event Registration Updates and Deadlines

In regards to national competitions, we were given a very limited amount of guaranteed spots, unless you are a prequalified athlete that has already been provided with a code, you will have to log on to the IFSA website for Open Registration for Taos and Creste Butte. These sign ups are early this week and it is crucial that you are punctual in signing up your athlete. Open registration for TAOS NATIONALS will take place DECEMBER 12TH, 2017 @ 6:00 PM MST, then registration for CRESTED BUTTE NATIONALS will open up DECEMBER 13TH, 2017 @ 5:00PM. If you are able to log on at this time, you should be able to secure a spot. The regional sign ups for these locations will be in the following weeks. Please share this information with your athletes and other parents so that can have the strongest presence possible as a team at these events. Thank you all for your patience with the IFSA this winter, the ultimate goal is to make this registration process easier for everyone involved, but it seems it will take time to effectively implement changes. I am available to field any questions you all might have this week via cell or email.

      Thank you for your time,
