Practice Groups


  • Beginning Group (K-5th Grade):

  • Tadpoles meet 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes per practice. Tadpoles will focus on stroke technique, specifically freestyle and backstroke, while also building stamina and beginning to learn how to dive properly. 


  • Intermediate Group (K-5th Grade):

  • Minnows meet 5 - 6 times a week for 1 hour per practice. Minnows must be proficient in freestyle and backstroke and able to swim 100 yards freestyle and 50 yards of backstroke without stopping. Minnows will continue to emphasize stroke technique while learning all 4 competitive strokes, starts, and flip turns.  


  • 6th - 12th Grade: 

  • The Waves are geared for those swimmers in swimmers 6th - 12th grade who are only able to attend a couple practices a week. Practices are designed to focus solely on technique and building stamina. Practices are offered 5 - 6 days a week for up to 2 hours per practice.

Senior Waves

  • Advanced Group. 3rd -12th Grade: 

  • Swimmers in the Senior Waves group are committed to attending practices an average of 4 times a week and attend monthly swim meets with the goal of achieving qualifying times (JOs, JAGs, WAGs and Sectionals). Practices are offered 5 - 6 days a week for 2 hours per practice.

Waves Gold

  • 6th and above: 

  • Geared for those swimmers who aim to swim at the highest level. These swimmers will have demonstrated the requisite skill and work ethic and must adhere to a strict set of standards regarding attendance of practices and meets.
