Welcome to the Dolphins!
The Bay Area Dolphins, formerly the Washington Manor Swim Team, has been a member of the East Bay Swim League since the late 1970s. Over the years the Dolphins have prided themselves on providing a family-friendly environment for competitive swimmers of all ages and abilities to improve their skills, test their competitive spirit and make lasting friendships.
The Dolphins originally swam at the neighborhood pool at Washington Manor park (now the San Leandro Family Aquatic Center). As the team grew in size and skill, the Dolphins made the pool at John Muir Middle School in San Leandro their new home.
In the early 2000's, the pool at Muir closed and the Dolphins utilized a variety of pools in the city of San Leandro before finding a home at Chabot College in Hayward in 2008. The Dolphins draw swimmers from all over, so in 2012 the team changed its name to the Bay Area Dolphins. We may have changed names but our philosophy has not. We are committed to providing young swimmers an opportunity for summer recreational competition in an atmosphere which fosters sportsmanship, team spirit, cooperation and a respect for others.
