Glenbrook Aquatics Diving
Glenbrook Aquatics Diving is a year round springboard diving program in Illinois. We offer a full range of groups from beginners with no experience to Nationally Competitive Junior and Senior divers for divers in Lake and Cook Counties in Illinois. Our diverse coaching staff has decades of experience coaching club, high school and college divers. We pride ourselves on a great diver to coach ratio. Our small groups size and structure allows us to focus on basic skills and form with our development group divers as well as advanced dryland and water practices for our high school and Nationally competitive team members. Our focus is to introduce and advance athletic and life skills while having fun in a positive environment through the sport of diving. Championship season started back in March in Coral Springs, FL with Ryan Cohn claiming his second YMCA National title on platform reppin Schroeder South. Good start to the season and a lot of divers got there first National meet under there belt. Regionals at Notre Dame was a great meet with 16 divers continuing to Zones at U of Michigan. All the hard work paid off with Schroeder joining us as GA North in Orlando, FL at the 2016 AAU National Championships. The streak of National Champions continued with Dana Liva, Jeremy Moser, Sammy Nickerson all claiming indiviadual Gold Medals. Moser paired with Henry Carmen to sweep both Synchro events. Team Spencer and Team Beefdog (Turner Dobbs and Anthony Liva) were not far behind with the boys bringing home 1st, 3rd and 5th on 3m and 1st, 2nd, 3rd on 1m in the 16+ boys synchro events. All 24 divers competed well and the Combined Team was National runners up giving us our 5th team runner up banner. The Men's Team broke the runner up streak as they claimed GA's first ever National Team title. Everyone really peaked in Orlando and the support our divers provide one and other was unmatched. So proud of everyone on an amazing season!

Another great season in the books. We kicked Championship season off in Orlando, FL with YMCA Nationals. Our mens team dominated to win and the womens team held strong for 2nd place but we fell a few points short of the combine team award. In the first year with 10-11 age group, Omar Elnawaway brought home two golds and a bronze. Ryan Cohn pulled three silvers in his dual meet vs James Hopper. We then went to the University of Iowa for the AT&T National preliminaries. Margy McCarthy, Dana Liva, Ryan Cohn, Teagan McNally, Keira Zoghlin and Greta Kavanagh all earned spots to Nationals with McNally and Zoghlin getting silver and bronze on platform. We wrapped up the summer with a trip out to Riverside, CA for the AAU National Championships. We took a much smaller team then the past couple years, but the divers stepped up and our mens team finished in 5th place with only 4 divers!!! Jeremy Moser lead the pack with a great come back to win gold on platform. Moser, Cohn, Trevor Burke and Turner Dobbs all pulled top 12 finishes in every event they entered. Carmen White and Morgan Paul lead the womens side with Erin McNally and Katie Lipsey bring in some synchro points and T McNally and Zoghlin both having top 12 finishes.
The Region 7 & 8 meets went well and 20 of our Junior divers are eligible to join our Senior divers in Iowa City for the USA Diving Zone D Championships at the end of June. Ryan Cohn swept all 3 events at Region 8 for the 14-15 boys. Keira Zoghlin earned gold on platform also. Teagan McNally claimed a silver on 1m to make herself a contender for top 3 at zones. Omar Elnawawy earned a silver on 3m and a bronze on 1m to round out our top 3 finishers. We had a ton of 4-12 finishes to give us a 4th place finish as a team.
