SNOW Swimming is expanding its programs in Loudoun County soon!
Loudoun County Parks and Rec will soon be opening its newest aquatic facility in South Riding. Virginia. The bid process for lane time has begun and SNOW Swimming will soon be submitting their bid.
A little factual background…
Claude Moore Rec Center will be closing down Memorial Day to renovate the HVAC and lighting systems and add stadium seating. The County plans to reopen Claude Moore by Labor Day. For this summer, all of Claude Moore’s programming and lane rentals will be moving to Dulles South. If Claude Moore reopens at Labor Day, we will have two pools. If not, SNOW (and all other rentals) will have their current programs from CM at Dulles South.
The County’s open bid, due Monday April 2 is for lane time at both pools starting January 2019.
In the meantime, SNOW is excited to have the opportunity to expand our program into the route 50 corridor and provide new choices for your community. SNOW is a team of about 500 Loudoun swimmers and coaches. We have the best coaches in the area and Head Coach Jim Rumbaugh brings many years of experience and knowledge to the task of developing your young athlete into the best they can be. This facility will give us the chance to bring our technical expertise and 20 years of coaching experience to your community.
The Head Site Coach for the Dulles South facility will be Coach Erik Collins. Erik is a full-time professional SNOW coach who has coached all ages of swimmers at local, regional, state and national levels to victory.
Our team is currently planning programming for the Dulles South facility. We have a great model at Claude Moore but now we need to know about what Dulles South needs. We begin our annual enrollment for SNOW in the middle of May for the 2018-2019 season. We would like to be able to keep you updated as we receive new information.
