Training Groups

CHRISTUS Louisiana Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of CLA to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

This is our entry level group. Swimmers are encouraged to attend 1-2 meets a year.
Equipment requirements: Competition suits for girls & boys, goggles, cap for girls

WHITE Group Coaches: Kenna Leethy & Hollin Spencer
Workout Days/Times: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 3:45-4:30pm, Wednesday 3:45-4:15pm



Athletes in this group focus mainly on learning four legal competitive strokes, having fun, and perfecting start and turn technique.  Swim meet attendance is encouraged.  
Equipment requirements: FINS, paddles, mesh bag

SILVER Group Coach: Angie Carter & Kenna Leethy

Monday 3:45-5:00pm
​Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm
Thursday 4:30-5:30pm
Friday 3:45-4:45pm



Athletes entering this group must display a desire to begin training on a more committed basis. Competition at swim meets is expected in this group. Training takes precedence over technique work for the first time in the athletes development. Dryland is a new part of the training schedule.
Equipment requirements: FINS, mesh bag, paddles, buoy, board, snorkel

Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm (Dryland)
Thursday 4:30-5;30pm 
Friday 3:45-5:00pm 
Saturday 7:30-9:00am (Dryland)


This training group must display a strong desire to perform at the highest level.  Training is geared towards individual talents, although a strong aerobic endurance factor is present.  Practice and meet attendance is mandatory.  Dryland and introduction to strength training is an important component to training.
