Welcome to the Franco’s Finatics Synchronized Swimming Page
What is Synchronized Swimming?
Synchronized swimming, also known as Artistic Swimming under new FINA guidelines, is a hybrid form of swimming, dance, and gymnastics, consisting of swimmers performing a synchronized routine (either solo, duet, mixed duet, free team, free combination, and highlight) of elaborate moves in the water, accompanied by music.
Louisiana currently has one registered Synchronized Swimming club. Additional clubs in New Orleans as well as Baton Rouge are in the registration stage, as well. Franco’s has started a synchronized swimming program that consists of seven members ages 6-12.
Typically, Synchronized Swimming attracts active youth ages 6-18, but Masters programs are often popular. Synchronized swimming attracts an athletic population who may be intimidated by speed swimming or athletes looking to broaden their athletic regimen.
