The Northern Virginia Swim League (NVSL) requires training for some volunteer positions. These positions are required positions for each pool to provide for all A and most B meets. Training dates can be found on the NVSL website. Always make sure to check the NVSL website for the latest as details are subject to change.
The NVSL University clinic covers most areas including Referee/Starter, Table Administration/Hy-Tek, Chief Timer, Clerk-of-Course, Announcers, and Stroke and Turn. This clinic will be held at the Fairfax County Government Center on June 1st. (Please check the NVSL website as details/dates/times are subject to change).
Or, select a clinic that is specific training for an area you might be interested in. Most clinics are only 2 hours long and your volunteer support with our swim meets will be priceless! Even if you aren’t sure that you would like to work at meets, the clinics, and especially the stroke and turn clinic, give you a greater understanding of swimming, of how meets run and of the things that your swimmers are working to perfect.
It takes a village to run a swim meet and volunteers are our village!
