Age Group II

AGII is a second-level development group where swimmers continue to refine skills and begin competing more regularly. Practice and meet attendance are mandatory. The primary objective of AGII will be to develop a strong technical and aerobic base to carry swimmers into the rest of their swimming careers. Interval training will be introduced.

Practice Requirements

There are six practices offered each week. Swimmers are required to make at least three of those. Four is encouraged.

Qualifications

New swimmers must try out in September. Coaches will look for four legal strokes, speed, and ability to take instruction.

Coaches will decide which swimmers will move from AGI. Commitment, times, and work ethic will be all be considered. 

Meet Requirements

AGII swimmers are required to make one swim meet or two meet sessions a month.  Emphasis will be placed on the various championship meets (MIT in December, Junior Olympics in March and July, and the Silver and Bronze Championships in the spring.) All qualifiers are expected to attend.
