Assistant Coach Position – Towamencin Swim Team (TST)
Level of Commitment: Part-time
Position: Assistant Swim Coach
Level of Team: Club
When: Day after Memorial Day through first weekend of August (some seasons may be shorter)
Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
-Leads daily practices under the direction of the Head Coach
-Initiates, develops, and maintains positive relationships with participants
-Creates a fun and inviting learning environment to ensure a positive experience
-Collaborates with staff to improve quality of program and increase opportunities for all swimmers
-Work with the Head Coach to oversee individual and team entries, submit entries and post any relevant meet information
-Promotes program and services
-Attends all practices (Early June – 4-7:45pm; Mid-June-August 7:15-11am)
-Attends all swim meets (Tues & Thurs evenings), championship meets, and a couple Saturday invitational meets
-Attends team events (meetings, kick off party, end of season party, fundraisers, and Awards Night)
-Strong organizational skills and ability to give attention and feedback to all coached athletes on a daily basis.
-Passion and excitement for the sport of swimming and teaching athletes is a must.
-Ability to effectively communicate with others.
-Ability to work outdoors in typical summer-like climates.
-Ability to stand on feet for extended period of time.
-Must have clearances completed prior to start of job: FBI background check, child abuse clearance, Criminal background check.
-Preferred college aged applicants; however, those as young as between Junior and Senior year of high school can apply.
-Prior experience is welcomed but not a must.
-Lifeguard & CPR certification
